Construction
My Grandfather was a carpenter from Germany from whom I got much of my inspiration. I started to get more interested in wood when I relocated out to Vancouver and worked for a variety of craftsmen from Europe. They were skilled in carpentry and would build great big Craftsmen houses, with much detail, built from the ground up. I eventually worked for bigger construction companies.
I enrolled at the BCIT in
the Vancouver area to pick up carpentry courses, which were always centered
on building with wood and cement. Along the line, I decided that there
was always a need for tradesmen with varied skills. I concluded that the
needs of customers, when it came to constrution/renovation, required varied
rather than specific skills.
