First Business
Later I became interested in working with wood. I would make boxes that I would fill with cards and letters and carts that could be pulled and pushed. Later on, I went to NAIT (Northen Alberta Institute of Technology) in Edmonton and took some business courses.
Later, I grew interested in cars and was able to tell what type of car I was looking at from a distance. I became interested in bodywork, which is where my career as a businessman, started. With some education in bodywork, I opened a body shop.
For five years I operated my body shop in the midst of the 1980's recession. At that time people were losing their houses as the interest soared to around 20%. All through this I kept my body shop viable by wholesaling cars brought from down east. I would fix them up and sell them to dealerships until eventually, I sold the business.
Subsequently, I managed a body shop for a private company. I
managed it for a year taking it out of the red and putting it into profitable
status the black until that body shop was sold shortly after.
